Effective Date: 23 August 2026
At Make Your Time, we take pride in the quality, craftsmanship and functionality of our custom watches.
This Warranty Policy explains the warranty coverage applicable to products purchased from Make Your Time, including what is covered, what is not covered and how to submit a warranty claim.
1. Legal Warranty
All new watches sold by Make Your Time to consumers in Portugal are covered by the applicable statutory legal guarantee.
Make Your Time is responsible for any lack of conformity that becomes apparent within 3 years from the date the watch is delivered to the customer, in accordance with applicable Portuguese consumer law.
For consumers located outside Portugal, any mandatory consumer protection rights applicable in their country of residence will continue to apply where required by law.
Nothing in this Warranty Policy limits or excludes any mandatory statutory rights available to the consumer.
2. What Is Covered
The warranty covers defects or lack of conformity resulting from manufacturing, materials or assembly under normal and proper use.
This may include:
- Manufacturing defects;
- Assembly defects;
- Defective components;
- Mechanical failure of the watch movement;
- A watch movement that stops functioning due to an internal defect;
- Faults affecting the normal functionality of the watch;
- Components that fail prematurely as a result of a manufacturing or assembly defect;
- A product that does not correspond to the specifications or description provided at the time of purchase.
Where applicable, watches equipped with an NH35 automatic movement are covered for movement-related manufacturing or functional defects in accordance with this policy and applicable consumer law.
3. What Is Not Covered
The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidents, improper handling, external factors or normal wear and tear.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Accidental damage;
- Drops or impacts;
- Scratches, dents or marks caused during use;
- Broken or scratched crystals caused by impact;
- Damage to the case, bezel, crown, bracelet, clasp or strap caused by accidental impact or improper use;
- Normal wear and tear;
- Cosmetic deterioration caused by regular use;
- Fading or discolouration;
- Damage caused by chemicals, perfumes, cleaning products or similar substances;
- Damage caused by extreme temperatures;
- Damage caused by strong magnetic fields;
- Damage resulting from improper storage or maintenance;
- Damage resulting from misuse, abuse or negligence;
- Damage caused by unauthorised repairs or modifications;
- Damage resulting from the watch being opened, disassembled or modified by the customer or an unauthorised third party, where that intervention caused or contributed to the defect;
- Damage resulting from failure to follow the care instructions supplied or published by Make Your Time;
- Water or moisture damage resulting from exposure to water.
4. Water Damage
Water damage is not covered under warranty.
Make Your Time watches are not sold or guaranteed as waterproof.
Customers should avoid exposing their watch to water and excessive moisture.
The watch should not be worn while:
- Swimming;
- Diving;
- Showering;
- Bathing;
- Participating in water sports;
- Entering a swimming pool, sea, lake or other body of water.
The watch should never be intentionally submerged in water.
Damage caused by water or moisture exposure, including corrosion, condensation or damage to the movement or dial, is not covered where it results from the customer's exposure of the watch to water.
This exclusion does not remove any mandatory statutory rights where water ingress is proven to result from an original manufacturing defect or lack of conformity for which Make Your Time is legally responsible.
5. Opening or Modifying the Watch
Customers should not open, disassemble or modify the watch unless the work is performed by Make Your Time or by a repair professional authorised by Make Your Time.
Opening or modifying the watch does not automatically remove the customer's statutory legal rights.
However, the warranty does not cover damage caused by or resulting from:
- Opening the watch case;
- Removing or replacing internal components;
- Modifying the movement;
- Modifying the dial, hands, crown or other components;
- Incorrect assembly;
- Repairs performed by unauthorised third parties.
Where an unauthorised intervention caused or contributed to the reported defect, that damage will not be covered.
6. Normal Wear and Tear
Watches are products intended to be worn and will naturally show signs of use over time.
Normal wear and tear is not considered a manufacturing defect.
Examples include:
- Surface scratches;
- Scratches on bracelets or clasps;
- Minor marks on the case or bezel;
- Wear to straps or bracelets;
- Fading or discolouration resulting from normal use;
- Cosmetic deterioration resulting from regular contact with clothing, skin or surfaces.
These conditions are not covered unless they result from an original manufacturing or material defect.
7. Warranty Remedies
If a watch has a confirmed lack of conformity covered by the legal warranty, the customer may be entitled, in accordance with applicable law, to:
- Repair of the watch;
- Replacement of the watch;
- A proportional reduction in price; or
- Termination of the purchase contract and a refund where the applicable legal requirements are met.
The customer may generally choose between repair and replacement unless the selected remedy is impossible or would impose disproportionate costs compared with the alternative remedy.
8. Defects Reported Within the First 30 Days
Where a lack of conformity becomes apparent within 30 days from delivery, consumers covered by Portuguese consumer law may request the immediate replacement of the product or termination of the purchase contract, subject to the applicable legal requirements.
9. Repair and Replacement
Where repair or replacement is required under the legal warranty, it will be carried out:
- Free of charge;
- Within a reasonable period;
- Without significant inconvenience to the customer.
Where Portuguese consumer law applies, repair or replacement should normally be completed within 30 days, except where the nature or complexity of the repair, the seriousness of the defect or the work required reasonably justifies a longer period.
Any additional legal warranty applicable following a repair or replacement will be provided in accordance with applicable law.

Please include:
- Your full name;
- Your order number;
- Proof of purchase;
- A clear description of the problem;
- Photographs or videos showing the issue, where possible.
We may request additional photographs, videos or information before arranging the return of the watch.
Please do not send a watch back without first contacting Make Your Time and receiving return instructions.
11. Inspection
Once the watch has been received, Make Your Time will inspect it to determine the cause of the reported issue.
Following inspection, the customer will be informed of:
- The result of the inspection;
- Whether the issue is covered by the warranty;
- The proposed solution;
- Any expected repair or replacement timeframe.
If the defect is covered by the legal warranty, the appropriate remedy will be provided at no charge to the customer.
12. Shipping Costs for Warranty Claims
Where a watch needs to be returned because of a potential lack of conformity covered by the statutory warranty, Make Your Time will provide appropriate return instructions.
Where the warranty claim is confirmed as covered by the customer's statutory rights, the customer will not be charged the necessary costs associated with the repair or replacement, including applicable return and redelivery costs, as required by law.
If inspection determines that the problem was caused by accidental damage, water damage, misuse, unauthorised modification or another circumstance not covered by the warranty, Make Your Time may offer a paid repair where possible.
No paid repair will be carried out without first informing the customer of the applicable costs.
13. Proof of Purchase
Customers should retain their:
- Order confirmation;
- Invoice;
- Receipt; or
- Other valid proof of purchase.
Proof of purchase may be required when submitting a warranty claim.
14. Care of Your Watch
To help protect your watch and ensure its proper operation:
- Avoid contact with water;
- Do not swim, shower or bathe while wearing the watch;
- Avoid strong impacts and drops;
- Avoid exposing the watch to strong magnetic fields;
- Avoid exposure to chemicals, perfumes and cleaning products;
- Do not attempt to open or modify the watch;
- Store the watch in a clean and dry environment when not in use.
Failure to follow these recommendations does not automatically remove statutory consumer rights, but damage caused by improper use or care is not covered by the warranty.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Make Your Time shall not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses resulting from circumstances unrelated to a manufacturing defect or lack of conformity of the product.
Nothing in this Warranty Policy excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
16. Statutory Consumer Rights
This Warranty Policy does not replace, restrict or reduce any mandatory statutory rights available to consumers.
Where any provision of this policy conflicts with mandatory consumer protection law, the applicable consumer protection law shall prevail.
17. Changes to This Warranty Policy
Make Your Time reserves the right to update or modify this Warranty Policy when necessary to reflect changes to our products, procedures or applicable legislation.
Any updated version will be published on our website together with its effective date.
Changes to this Warranty Policy will not remove or reduce statutory rights already acquired by customers in relation to purchases made before the change.
