Terms of service
Effective Date: 23 August 2026
OVERVIEW
Welcome to Make Your Time.
The terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Make Your Time.
Make Your Time operates this online store and website, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services offered to customers (collectively, the “Services”).
Our online store is powered by Shopify, which provides the e-commerce platform that enables us to offer our products and Services to you.
These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, Warranty Policy and any other policies referenced on our website, govern your access to and use of our Services and purchases made through our store.
By accessing our website, using our Services or placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use our Services or place an order.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any mandatory consumer rights granted under Portuguese or European Union law.
SECTION 1 – ACCESS AND ELIGIBILITY
By using our Services or placing an order, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
If you are under 18 years of age, purchases should be made with the involvement or permission of a parent or legal guardian where required by applicable law.
When placing an order, you may be required to provide information including:
-
Your name;
-
Email address;
-
Billing address;
-
Shipping address;
-
Telephone number;
-
Payment information.
You agree that all information you provide is accurate, current and complete.
If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity carried out through your account.
SECTION 2 – OUR PRODUCTS
Make Your Time offers independently assembled custom watches and related products.
Our watches may be assembled from a combination of components selected or configured by the customer.
We make every reasonable effort to accurately display our products.
However, colours, finishes, reflections, textures and other visual characteristics may vary slightly depending on:
-
Screen settings;
-
Device type;
-
Lighting;
-
Photography;
-
Digital rendering;
-
Product configuration tools;
-
Minor variations between individual components.
Because watches are individually assembled, minor visual differences may exist between photographs, configurator images or digital renders and the finished product.
Minor variations do not constitute a defect where they do not materially affect the agreed characteristics, quality or functionality of the product.
Product descriptions, specifications, designs and availability may be updated from time to time.
SECTION 3 – CUSTOM AND PERSONALISED WATCHES
Many Make Your Time watches are assembled according to specifications and options selected by the customer.
Customisation options may include:
-
Dial;
-
Case;
-
Hands;
-
Bezel;
-
Bezel insert;
-
Bracelet or strap;
-
Movement;
-
Caseback;
-
Other components or finishing options.
Customers are responsible for carefully reviewing their selected configuration before placing an order.
Once production or assembly of a customised watch has started, requested changes or cancellations may not be possible.
Where a product is manufactured, assembled or configured according to the consumer's individual specifications, or is otherwise clearly personalised within the meaning of applicable law, the statutory right of withdrawal may not apply.
Further information is provided in our Refund Policy.
Nothing in this section affects the customer's statutory rights if the watch is defective, damaged, incorrectly supplied or does not conform to the agreed order.
SECTION 4 – WATCH MOVEMENTS AND COMPONENTS
Certain Make Your Time watches use the NH35 automatic mechanical movement, where expressly stated in the relevant product description.
Where Make Your Time describes an NH35 movement as genuine, this description relates specifically to the movement installed in the watch and does not mean that the complete watch is an official Seiko product.
The NH35 movement is a third-party manufactured mechanical watch movement used within independently assembled custom watches.
Other components used in Make Your Time watches may be genuine third-party components or aftermarket components, depending on the specific watch and configuration.
The description of each product should be consulted for information concerning the applicable movement and components.
The use of a third-party component does not mean that the complete watch has been manufactured, approved or endorsed by the manufacturer or trademark owner associated with that component.
SECTION 5 – SEIKO® AND THIRD-PARTY TRADEMARK DISCLAIMER
Make Your Time is an independent custom watch business.
Make Your Time is not affiliated with, authorised by, sponsored by, endorsed by or officially connected with Seiko Watch Corporation, Seiko Group Corporation or any of their affiliated companies.
Make Your Time watches are independently assembled custom watches and are not official Seiko watches, unless expressly stated otherwise in relation to a genuine complete product.
Certain products may incorporate an NH35 automatic movement, where stated in the relevant product description.
Certain aftermarket components used in custom watches may display or bear third-party trademarks.
All trademarks, logos, brand names and other intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners.
The appearance of SEIKO®, or any other third-party trademark, on a component does not mean that the complete custom watch has been manufactured, assembled, authorised, sponsored, approved or endorsed by Seiko or any other third-party trademark owner.
Make Your Time makes no claim of ownership over the SEIKO® trademark or any other third-party trademark.
References to third-party brands are used only where relevant to describe or identify products, components or characteristics.
SECTION 6 – ORDERS
When you submit an order through our store, you are making an offer to purchase the selected product.
Receipt of an automatic order confirmation does not necessarily mean that your order has been finally accepted.
An order is accepted once payment has been successfully authorised or received and we have accepted the order for fulfilment.
We reserve the right, where permitted by law, to reject or cancel an order for legitimate reasons including:
-
Product or component unavailability;
-
An inability to manufacture the selected configuration;
-
Obvious pricing errors;
-
Incorrect product information;
-
Suspected fraud;
-
Payment failure;
-
Shipping restrictions.
If an order is cancelled by Make Your Time after payment has been received, the applicable amount will be refunded.
Customers should carefully check their configuration and order information before completing their purchase.
SECTION 7 – PRICES AND PAYMENT
Prices are displayed in the currency indicated on our online store.
Where required by law, consumer prices include applicable VAT and taxes.
Shipping charges and any other applicable costs will be shown before the customer completes the order.
For deliveries outside the European Union, customers may be responsible for customs duties, import taxes or other charges imposed by the destination country where those amounts are not included in the price charged by Make Your Time.
Prices may change without notice.
Price changes do not affect orders that have already been accepted.
We reserve the right to correct obvious pricing or typographical errors.
Customers must provide valid and authorised payment information.
SECTION 8 – SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
Estimated preparation and delivery times may be displayed on the website.
Because Make Your Time watches may be individually assembled, production or preparation time may be required before dispatch.
Delivery estimates are not guarantees unless expressly stated otherwise.
Delays may occur because of:
-
Carrier disruption;
-
Customs processing;
-
Public holidays;
-
Severe weather;
-
Component availability;
-
Supply-chain disruption;
-
Incorrect delivery information;
-
Events outside our reasonable control.
Where Make Your Time arranges delivery and selects the carrier, the risk of loss or damage remains with Make Your Time until the customer, or another person designated by the customer other than the carrier, receives the goods, in accordance with applicable law.
Customers are responsible for providing an accurate and complete shipping address.
SECTION 9 – PRODUCT INSPECTION
Customers are encouraged to inspect their order following delivery.
If a product:
-
Arrives damaged;
-
Is incorrect;
-
Is missing a component;
-
Does not correspond to the order;
-
Appears to have a manufacturing or assembly defect;
please contact:
makeyourtimemakeityours@gmail.com
We may request photographs, videos or other reasonable information to assist with the assessment of the problem.
Failure to notify us immediately does not remove any mandatory statutory rights available to the consumer.
SECTION 10 – LEGAL WARRANTY
New watches sold by Make Your Time to consumers in Portugal benefit from the applicable statutory conformity guarantee.
Under current Portuguese consumer law, Make Your Time is responsible for a lack of conformity that becomes apparent within 3 years from delivery of the product, subject to the conditions established by applicable law.
Our full warranty terms and warranty claim procedures are available in our Warranty Policy.
Nothing in these Terms reduces or excludes mandatory statutory warranty rights.
SECTION 11 – WATER DAMAGE
Water damage resulting from exposure of the watch to water or excessive moisture is not covered under warranty.
Make Your Time watches are not sold or guaranteed as waterproof.
Customers should avoid exposing their watch to water or excessive moisture.
The watch should not be worn while:
-
Swimming;
-
Showering;
-
Bathing;
-
Diving;
-
Participating in water sports;
-
Entering swimming pools;
-
Entering the sea, lakes or other bodies of water.
Customers should not intentionally submerge their watch.
Water-related damage may include:
-
Moisture inside the case;
-
Condensation;
-
Corrosion;
-
Dial damage;
-
Hand damage;
-
Movement damage.
Water damage caused by the customer's exposure of the watch to water is excluded from warranty coverage.
This exclusion does not limit mandatory statutory rights if water ingress results from an original manufacturing or assembly defect for which Make Your Time is legally responsible.
SECTION 12 – NORMAL WEAR, DAMAGE AND MISUSE
Normal wear and tear is not considered a manufacturing defect.
Examples include:
-
Surface scratches;
-
Bracelet scratches;
-
Clasp marks;
-
Minor case or bezel marks;
-
Wear to straps;
-
Cosmetic deterioration caused by normal use;
-
Fading or discolouration associated with use.
The warranty does not cover damage resulting from:
-
Accidental impacts;
-
Drops;
-
Crushing;
-
Misuse;
-
Negligent handling;
-
Exposure to inappropriate chemicals;
-
Extreme temperatures;
-
Strong magnetic fields;
-
Unauthorised modifications;
-
Improper repair;
-
Customer-caused water exposure.
Further details are provided in our Warranty Policy.
SECTION 13 – OPENING OR MODIFYING THE WATCH
Customers should not open, disassemble or internally modify the watch unless the work is performed by Make Your Time or an appropriately authorised repair professional.
Opening or modifying a watch does not automatically remove mandatory statutory rights.
However, damage caused by or resulting from an unauthorised intervention is not covered.
Examples include damage resulting from:
-
Opening the case;
-
Removing internal components;
-
Incorrectly reinstalling the caseback;
-
Modifying the movement;
-
Replacing hands or dials incorrectly;
-
Damaging seals or internal components;
-
Incorrect reassembly.
SECTION 14 – RETURNS, CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Returns, cancellations and refunds are governed by our Refund & Return Policy and applicable consumer law.
For eligible standard, non-custom products, Make Your Time offers a 30-day return period from the date of delivery, subject to the conditions set out in our Refund & Return Policy.
Consumers within the European Union generally benefit from a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for eligible distance purchases. Make Your Time voluntarily extends this period to 30 days for eligible standard, non-custom products.
However, the statutory right of withdrawal may not apply to goods made according to the consumer’s specifications or goods that are clearly personalised.
Accordingly, custom-built watches individually assembled according to the customer’s selected configuration are not eligible for change-of-mind returns, exchanges or refunds where this legal exception applies.
Customers may cancel eligible orders until the order enters processing. For custom-built watches, processing begins once preparation, sourcing or assembly of the selected configuration has started. Once processing has begun, cancellation may no longer be possible.
This does not affect statutory rights regarding:
- Defective products;
- Incorrect products;
- Damaged products;
- Products that do not match the configuration ordered;
- Products that otherwise do not conform to the purchase contract.
SECTION 15 – INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Unless otherwise stated, original Make Your Time content, including:

This does not affect statutory consumer rights relating to products already purchased.

-
Fraud;
-

Serious violations of these Terms.
Termination or restriction of website access does not remove rights or obligations arising from valid orders that have already been accepted, except where legally permitted.
